ebay purchase dispatched by amazon?

searched around yesterday on all the popular selling sites for a car part , ebay seller had the best deal so purchased that one

email came through with tracking details and its dispatched by amazon and yes today turns up in the amazon box , had a look on amazon to see if id have gotten a better deal going direct and theyre double the price on there?

whats going on there then ?

If the seller is also selling on amazon he may use there shipment service where he sends them the stock, they store it and ship it out for him.

People using drop shipping often have many different outlets for the exact same product all at differing prices.
They will price to be competitive as they can on each site while staying close to the highest price they can obtain.
Unofficially amazon discourages sellers from hugely discounting below average prices.
If its something you purchase regularly its often worth seeing if the seller will deal with you direct.
Some will include a card or web address for there own site on the paperwork, its always worth looking/asking.

A lot of the drop shippers don't even own any stock, they can earn scary amounts of money just sitting on the pc all day advertising products on Ebay, you pay them, they pay Amazon and use the premium free next day delivery, no stock to buy, nothing to post.

A guy at one of my customers has a son who uses Amazon, basically there is fixed price for shipping a box load of stuff to them. They then manage the ditribution at a fixed cost per item.

So when he sees thing on special he will buy a load and ship them in. He's making a living at it. He was in Boots and they had some Ladyshaves half price, he bought a load and listed them on Amazon.

Even Halfords do this kind of thing these days, they list items and they are fullfilled by some one else.

I used to run a drop shipping company. Made a nice looking website, set up a payment mechanism, license to print money.

You order from my website, pay me the money. I buy the item at trade (40-60% discount) and have it sent directly to you. We more than doubled our turnover every month...

See the flaw? Never actually had any cash! I had to pay immediately but my customers cash was tied up within the payment mechanism for a month before I got my hands on it. Then of course because business was booming, I had to spend all of it on next months drop.

Would have made it though if my business partner hadn't realised this, grabbed the cash and run off with it...

All this kind of thing confuses me, It started to get confusing when the people i had gas off started selling electricity....I got so confused i did'nt know who not to pay anymore..
