Easiest way to remove scrap tyres from good rims?

Now that I think back what a horrible job it was, I'm so glad I have a tyre machine (although the table needs attention, at least it's got a bead breaker). Total number of tyres actually changed with the machine = 0 (I've taken a number off, though..)

As a useful bit of information I was putting new tyres onto my trailer rims and thinking what to use as a lube when I realised I had a full bottle of cable lubricant in the van (used for pulling in cables through conduit and safe for rubber insulated cables).
It worked a treat:

From what I've seen on others I think the red piece is a spare/extra, that tube threads on the top of the upright for gripping the wheel using the cross piece. You can see the the loop on the top ties up with the square on the end of the bar for tightening.

I've never used one, still looks like a lot of effort, think I'll stick with my Corghi tyre changer

I wonder if Hellerine lubricant would work the same?, I've got a bottle for putting cable sleeving on.

i bought a bucket off ebay tyre stuff big bucket for £12 delivered i dont use it was a thanks for a mate that does my tyres and helps seal it as well as lube it

You haven't lived until you've changed the rear tyres on a tractor (16.9 15/30) by hand with a manual slide hammer type breaker. **** my old boots, I once did two in a morning....and very little in the afternoon!

Presumably you're gonna have new tyres fitted at some point?
Leave the old tyres on until you get new.
Protect the rims, free removal.
