Earthsure twin and earth

I'm doing a load of work at home so thought i would try a roll of 1.5mm Earthsure; comes with the earth core pre-insulated.

Won't be going back to the old stuff, really easy to strip, saves faffing with little bits of earth sleeving, esp doing spotlights.

Buying a 100M reel of earthsure from a distributor works even out slightly cheaper than the standard stuff from Screwfix

I this was done to death in another thread, but I'm still utterly bemused why it's not sleeved by default.

what are you using 1.5mm for . only needs to be 1.0mm for lighting circuits and will carry 10 amps , why pay more for a heavier cable thats harder to fit

I think it comes under the heading " why wasn't this thought of before".

I get your point and don't disagree but I tend to use 1.5mm for all lighting circuits, I dunno 1.mm always seems a bit fragile.

if u were doing loads of it day in day out you would change your mind trying to make off a 3 core and earth and a loop in loop out feed and switch wire in ceiling roses or a bunch in a 25mm box with a 2gang 2 way dimmer fitted and try pushing them back

Different when doing it for oneself though. A bit of overkill never hurts. As I always say, the question should never be: "Why?", but rather: "Why not?".
