I don't think anyone would have much to say about it. They aren't exactly dear cars these days. And I'm part exing my race car project to pay for it.

Doesnt matter if they do, you put in the hours full stop, you get to spend your monies on what you want the same as anyone else, me, I say well done it takes time to find any used motor in excellent condition,I love it when people who graft get what they want, its how it should be .cracking wheels on it. Funny you should say that, the picture is a couple of weeks old and those wheels got sold by the current owner a week ago! It's got the diamond cut split spoke original wheels on it again now but I like the grey ones so I'll be looking for a set of trackday rims at some point as they suit the car well.

It's unlikely to come to work much as it will mainly be a weekend toy. Can't afford to be racking up miles on it just at the moment.

No, I'm very considerate I think, but that will all have to change. Might have to get a pink shirt, some spray tan and a pot of hair gel, then tailgate like a maniac while taking selfies...

don't forget to go weight lifting be on steroids have no neck walk round like a carpet carrier with your arms out not all do mind there are some decent ones

Very wise, but I suspect you won't be disappointed - they're very capable machines [if looked after]. Manual boxes are less problematic than the flappy paddle jobs.

It isn't a huge job to convert an SMG car back to a manual though if I ever decide I can't live with it.

If I get it, I'll end up keeping it as selling it with a cad d on it will cost me more than a gearbox conversion. It may also end up getting stripped at some point and turned into a trackday car if funds allow later on, I have a habit of not being able to leave my cars alone.

I geuss the point is to find one your happy with full stop, sounds like you are happy to get the spanners out, I am the same way inclined, find the best deal that suits you,then change things to get it as you want it, all second hand motors will have some niggles, just sort the wheat from the chaff. Decided not to take the PX on the M3, digging deeper im happy the car is ok, but the hike it causes in insurance plus the hit on resale value means I loose money to swap it for my race car, spend more money than I should running it, then loose out again when the time comes to sell on. I'm not as desperate as I was to move it because the new house has a bit more room than I remembered from the first visit.

There are loads, there is a prestige/performance car place near me and they reckon they process 15 M3s a month.
Plenty of choice.
