That’s about 12 mm of filler
Did the previous owner have shares in Isopon?
That’s about 12 mm of filler
Thats the reason why I ended up with a rusty truck, while all those shiny vehicles over the pond look nice, they sure know how to bodge.
The seam sealer was done from the paint shop as the guys an expert apparently... yep an expert at doing a job worker than the apprentice
edit;
the wing box on the left in bare steel was made in two pieces and I welded and blended it into the original part and lost the join so it matched the offside painted part
One of dads mates has an e type and hes often said some of them were full of filler from new.
Im sure I've also read an article somewhere about Jaguar and Mercedes in the e type era, Jaguar were spending a tiny amount of quite good profits on R&D whereas Mercedes spent much much more and as a result did much better over the years.
Park an E type next to the equivalent merc and I wouldn't even notice the merc, even today, park an F type next to an amg black edition brabus (or whatever they are called) and I would have the F type
That's just styling, how many times have Jaguar nearly gone bust over the years due to lack of sales and how many times has there been posts on here about JLR vehicles costing a fortune and still spending loads of time getting repaired.
I agree the E types do look nice but they werent well made, neither were a lot of the newer jags
Mates got this one.
But it's a Jaaaaaaag
Iv noticed in the past 5 years idiots doing this to cars in England like they do in the us of a
always makes me laugh with Rolls Royce, paint it sand it back paint it sand it back.... just get the body into a better standard to start with
That looks.........just sexyI bought a dog of a flat floor pan 1965 E type when I was a nipper, rotten as a pear and had at least 1/4" thick coat of metal flake red and lacquer on it. Took about a year to get all the paint and filler off it and another year to weld it all up. Rebuilt the engine/ moss box in my basement and bolted it all together, took six of us to drag it out of there which was made worse when we got the giggles halfway up the stairs and had to let it go . Not a rebuild for the faint hearted, that said it was a stonking car once finished and on the road.
Mates got this one.
