Dymo label printers - it's all Mig forum's fault!

....Have just spent LOTS on a Zebra ZD wireless- just need to get it configured to work, which is proving to be a challenge.

We used various models of Zebra printers at one place I worked, they could be a trial to set up, but once running were good, reliable machines.

You don't have to cable everything. The network can be accessed by wired or wireless devices in exactly the same way. So if you were to cable the printer from (and maybe near to) the router, you would be able to access it from any device in the same way as if it were wirelessly connected.

A dymo printer to me is this - was my dads - found it at my mums two years ago. Used to label his machines up with it. Now I look at it closely, it doesn't actually appear to be one, although that's all he ever called it.

Wow. That's a relic of days gone-by, l do remember those from my school days.

I had a quick play with the 6000 label writer I purchased cheap locally recently. I like the features it has on the buttons ready to go. Things like this vertical wrap or flags will be fantastic for automotive wire harness labelling.

This Dymo metallic silver roll with black font is VERY close to what 90's Mercedes used to tag their looms with.



The PO ran it on duracell AA cells. It must take 10 or 12 of them! I have ordered a rechargable cell pack for it from ali express. And compatible UK plug chargers to replace the missing chargers on my other portable Dymo printers.

My Brother label printer took a load of AA cells, that probably would have been about six. I opened it up and ran a pair of cables from the battery terminal out through a gap in the battery compartment and use my adjustable power supply set to 9v to run it now. It's not a neat solution, but I don't use it often enough to make it nicer. One of these days I'll put a socket on it. It was a cheap car boot sale purchase.

I did similar with a radio, a couple of wires out to drawing pins in a small piece of ply which I taped to the top of a 9V battery.
