Dutch welding questions

hello

im Ingmar Kroner and im form holland .
im 17 years old en im a student in welding.

but i have some questions.

i have an tig weld diploma nivo 1

but i want to now what ut think of my welding work.
because on the place i work nobuddy realy nows a lot about tig welding

Alloy 2mm sheet

Stainlis steel

what do you think about it and what can i do to make it better??

i want to get on a level of an i dont no how to say in holland we call it Picturewelder

so every comment is good

That looks pretty good to me

Much neater than I can manage. If you want to get better, then it's just practice and more practice.
What is it you want to weld? The neatest welds I've seen came from Spondon Engineering in Derbyshire, UK. They make bespoke racing chassis for motorcycles, beautiful.

Hi All!

Dutchwelder, very nice welds,
You obviously have a natural talent for welding! I have seen a lot worse welds made for production!

My advice to you you is;
1/ Aluminium welding-looks good but your forward travel speed is too great, resulting in the 'sharks teeth' pattern at the toe's of the weld. This is unacceptable as it is a concentrated stress raiser! Nice and clean otherwise!

2/ Stainless welds - Excellent profile, good weld appearance etc.. Only fault is poor pick up with preceding weld. Look at the quarters and you can see a crater or gas pore at nearly every one! You need to overlap your stop starts more!

You`ll make an excellent tig hand, very good work at your tender years.

As RoG points out there are some issues, the weld deposit on the ally looks a little cool and almost like individual spot welds, speed definately an issue but could also be a power issue. Power verses travel speed verses filler cooling, are one of the balances that only experience teach and your very nearly there.

The stainless i would have expected to be better after seeing the generally good aluminum weld.

As the weld progresses you can clearly see the stop start points and you can also see that as heat builds in the parent metal, the weld spreads. You see how the HAZ gets wider as the weld progresses, this is caused by the piece heating and needing less power to achieve the same size weld pool.

Try preheating and move back a few ripples at stop starts.

Try to start moving around the workpiece and weld continuously, I have a simple stand for small work that I can walk all the way round.

These comments could be aimed at a far more experienced welder, you are welding to a very high standard, well done.

Also on the Stainless welding, judging by the colour, it looks like you have been removing the end of the filler wire out of the protection of the sheilding gas when you have dipped it in the pool.

A good habit to get into is to, still keep the end of the filler wire very close to the weld pool and therefore in the protection of shielding gas inbetween dips.....this will keep the end of the wire from oxidating and inturn help give nicer coloured welds.

hello

today i have welded alloy whit a mig welding machine
maby this isnt the place to post it but to make a new topic was a bit rubbis i think

its a profile 30x30x2mm(L=69mm) welded om an 5mm thick pice of alloy
i think its a bit to hard on the beginning(left) but overal i think its a nice weld

what do you think??
