its a ridiculously overpriced hoover that salesman used to come round and hard sell to gullible punters
it took hours to get rid of them and they caved in and bough one 
one came to my house he never got over the doorstep and it ended up in me telling him to ...off in 2 minutes flat

That was how vacuum cleaners were sold ..individual appointed sales men at the door . It was the advent of places like Currys, Oxendales and Wigfall catalogues in the early sixties that saw the Hoover vacuum cleaners being sold via the shop or the catalogue . It is testiment to the engineering behind the Kerby that many are still in use today .
