SP3-fine taste in motosickles, I recall having my name on the waiting list for a 916, called in the dealers one day and there was an SP5-I so nearly bought it and wished I had. Some years later,I had a 748, and had a run out on a 748 SP the dealer had in-incredible difference to the cooking version, SP dukes are gods motorcycles.Enjoy.Definitely a little tongue in cheek there, Norlander... With Mike Hailwood on a Bologna Tractor no-one else stood a chance... Eventually I couldn't resist the lure of the Desmo, and bought an early 851, followed a couple of years later by an 888 SP3, which I still have to this day. Wonderful machines.
Yes they do, I have owned japanese/italian/american machines in the main. Ducatis and Harleys are built and designed by people with a passion for their motorcycles and they standby by their basic design concept-which is quite old-especially in harleys case.Do the big dukes have the character and feeling the japanese bikes lack ?
Yes, I took my 851 along to the dealer (Jefferies in Shipley) to px against the 888 SP3. THe salesman checked my 851 over, pronounced himself satisfied, and then asked me if I'd like a test ride on the SP3... I didn't need asking twice and was gobsmacked at the extra power it had. Right where my 851 was tailing off, the SP3 was just starting to get going... The ride back home from Shipley to Stafford (where I lived at the time) was one of the most memorable rides I've ever had. I couldn't believe how much grunt the thing had (and how stiff the suspension was!)SP3-fine taste in motosickles, I recall having my name on the waiting list for a 916, called in the dealers one day and there was an SP5-I so nearly bought it and wished I had. Some years later,I had a 748, and had a run out on a 748 SP the dealer had in-incredible difference to the cooking version, SP dukes are gods motorcycles.Enjoy.
Whereabouts are you in France, Norlander? We have a moneypit in the Languedoc that we spend most of our spare time fixing up. Are you anywhere near(ish)?
nice going, you should be on the road for the glorious summer we are going to have this year.
The MZ guys swear by these:

The used to be called MZ-B but they've changed the name, probably because they cater for more than MZs nowadays

Hi there,
Can't believe I have seen this here!
My dad actually has one of these in his garage, always had running problems and probably hasn't been ridden for at least 5 years!
The bizarre thing is that he is also in Canterbury! Wouldn't have thought there would be two of these in the same city!
any more updates on this yet Gas Mark 5
