Dry sanding sheets

I note many references to 'dry sanding' but can only find course grades for sale. Are these available in similar grade as wet & dry?, up to 3000g. I find wet & dry fine used dry clogs very quickly.

You can get Al-ox paper (aluminium oxide) in all the necessary grades and it doesn't clog as quickly when used dry. I have up to 3000 in the shed but really 80 to 2000 is as fine as I use regularly.

Thanks for that, I just wondered if it was a special paper used in auto refinishing.

Yes there is. Mirka Abranet sanding strips or auto net disks also you can get rolls off production paper and cut to any size

local paint suppliers will be cheapest as for example, tub of easy one filler in halfrauds is around £25 and off a supplier £12 big big difference

If only, I can't get wet & dry more than 1500 there

Change to a decent paint factors mate, a decent place will be able to supply 2000 grit in sheets and 4000 grit discs.

Have tried a few on-line suppliers, all I get offered in the 1000-3000 grades are silicone carb. wet & dry.

Tried, only silicone carbide the grade I need.

If you really want fine grades you should look at micro mesh abrasives. You will pay quite a bit compared to papers but they last a lot longer and can be used wet and dry then washed and used repeatedly. They start at 1500 and go through to 12,000.

Hi, you said that you have up to 3000g in your shed, where did you get them from.
