Drones to potentially deliver parcels-a reality or pie in the sky?

I suppose they will argue that it's not, according to the OED in front of me, trespass is defined as "enter someone's land or property without permission", and since you don't own the sky above your property...... but as always it's one rule for them and a different rule for the masses. I dare you to try flying a microlight or small plane over buck house or an MoD site and see how quickly they'll come after you, but it's okay for them to fly over your house. After all your just one of the unwashed masses who views don't count.

Having said all that I don't believe that Amazon will be paying for it all and there will be no investment by the Government, sorry I meant to say UK taxpayer.

The US Marines used drones in Afghanistan successfully for delivering freight with the Kaman K-Max.

not suprised after watching a delivery guy in a sprinter hire
van swerving all over the place and driving erratically mind u he had a beard and was sun tanned and probably wasnt even on minimum wage

It might work in sparsely populated areas and I can see why they would use them in remote areas of Afghanistan. It's a daft idea for somewhere like the UK. It would only be a matter of time before one hit a wire, hit a plane, came down on a car causing an accident, or worse, took somebody's head off. Noisy, dangerous, intrusive, it's a non starter.

I spent 25 years being delivered by air, and not always to the right address, and sometimes arrived damaged.
The novelty aspect quickly wears off.

They are not all protected and special licence is often granted with good reason put forward
A lot were issued here for dominating nesting areas and spreading nasty bugs into an important drinking water catchment area
