Hell things have changed since I gave up bikes . Now we are into fine tuning the seat height what next ? Tyre warmers for a trip to the shops or wets and dries for weather changes.I am a short erse (5ft8", 29" leg) but it is not too bad. I bought a low seat option in preparation for the AT arriving and put that on and can have both feet flat on the ground with it in the low setting (820mm I think) After a few days I put the standard seat back on but in the low position which is 850mm and I can almost flat foot both sides. The last day I put the low seat back on but in the high position which makes it 845mm but have not tested it out yet. Reason I put that on is it just looks better as the pillion seat and the back of the main seat are flush and the bit that goes up the tank sits at the top of the clear tank protection Honda have put on and hides it. I will see what it is like but the low seat in the low position did give me a numb rear end after a while so likely it will be the same in the higher position.
Only if you already hold a manual car licence.HGV tests are now taken in an auto and allow you to drive a manual. I guess car tests will be the same.
PSV the same, but as I took mine pre 1997 I'm restricted to auto only (with over 30 years experience), yet some oik who does it now on an auto can drive stick as well - go figure.HGV tests are now taken in an auto and allow you to drive a manual. I guess car tests will be the same.
It's been tweaked a little too give more torque lower in the rev range at the expense of top end power. The modes on the manual are wet, normal, sport and user custom. Tend to go with normal in town and sport everywhere else.
Though out on the no modes, no mod cons XV tomorrow morning
I can imagine all these tracksuit wearing F wits drawling fake Patois into the dash and going nowhereI don't understand all the fuss . As long as you can speak reasonably clearly into a microphone the 'car ' will do the rest .No driving required all you will have to do is play some inane game on the Infotainment center until you arrive . Simples. Thank the lord I won't be here.
....

Who's to say that everyone won't have sunk to that level by then and the car will understand. Lets face it the car will do whatever any numpty wants it to do already. " The meek ( weak minded ) will inherit the earth"Surely XV has hippy mode, watch you don't catch your flares on the footpegs

Biggest issue with autonomous vehicles is having to mix with real drivers. We are too unpredictable.Part of me likes the idea of autonomous vehicles for motorways and trunk routes certainly.... because they are generally boring and the level of traffic and idiocy could be better controlled...... cant tailgate, perform a BMW slip road manoeuvre, hog lanes ......
No mixing ... if your vehicle has a nut behind the wheel, take the alternate route ...Biggest issue with autonomous vehicles is having to mix with real drivers. We are too unpredictable.
Can't maintain the roads we have. Can't imagine dedicated roads being built for them.No mixing ... if your vehicle has a nut behind the wheel, take the alternate route ...
When has it ever gone that way? It would be non autonomous banned from motorways ...Can't maintain the roads we have. Can't imagine dedicated roads being built for them.
A tad discriminatory. When has it ever gone that way? It would be non autonomous banned from motorways ...

Aye. I was going to write similar but couldn't be bothered to spare the effort. Its almost like you need a separate network of routes for automated goods vehicles - perhaps something with stops at strategic points and centralised automatic control and mointoring systems.
You could electrify these routes as well, so that they don't need batteries, that would save on resources and power.
And as a safety measure you could ensure they go where you want them to by installing some "guide rails" for them to follow.
Oh.... hang on... wait a minute.....*
* (I know I'm being facetious and rail it isn't a viable solution to everything, but we could make better use of it, invest in and unify the network and alleviate a lot of freight form the roads IMO).
and no road tax for electric vehicles isnt?, no congestion charge for same isnt? the additional thousands in tax for a large engined vehicle isnt?A tad discriminatory.
Aye. I was going to write similar but couldn't be bothered to spare the effort.
It's all pipe dreams anyway. By the time Mr Bo Jangles and co have finished raping the country nobody's gonna be able to afford a new vehicle let alone an electric autonomous vehicle.
No it isn't fair But how else are they gonna get people into evand no road tax for electric vehicles isnt?, no congestion charge for same isnt? the additional thousands in tax for a large engined vehicle isnt?
it will be "for your safety" or "for the environment" .... and neither the government or the green idiots care what you think or feel, historically, now or in the future.
In fact no fun at all.Part of me likes the idea of autonomous vehicles for motorways and trunk routes certainly.... because they are generally boring and the level of traffic and idiocy could be better controlled...... cant tailgate, perform a BMW slip road manoeuvre, hog lanes ......
