All of a sudden no shortage of Lorry drivers .Its almost like you need a separate network of routes for automated goods vehicles - perhaps something with stops at strategic points and centralised automatic control and mointoring systems.
You could electrify these routes as well, so that they don't need batteries, that would save on resources and power.
And as a safety measure you could ensure they go where you want them to by installing some "guide rails" for them to follow.
Oh.... hang on... wait a minute.....*
* (I know I'm being facetious and rail it isn't a viable solution to everything, but we could make better use of it, invest in and unify the network and alleviate a lot of freight form the roads IMO).
We will see how long the "no road tax" situation lasts . Just as long as it takes the Gov to pluck up the courage and recoup all the fuel tax etc, revenue. It reminds me of the cheap diesel tax when we were all encourage to us it . Whatever happened to that ? They just seem to play about with numbers with very little obvious long term plan.and no road tax for electric vehicles isnt?, no congestion charge for same isnt? the additional thousands in tax for a large engined vehicle isnt?
it will be "for your safety" or "for the environment" .... and neither the government or the green idiots care what you think or feel, historically, now or in the future.
