Hi, I am totally new to welding and bought the Clarke Mig 106 from Machine Mart.
For a start I want to mainly do flux core welding outside.
The machine comes with 0.9mm flux core wire and a 0.9mm tip in the torch.
The drive roller however is only 0.6 / 0.8mm (and I am guessing normal square shaped groove. It didn't look like a v-groove).
After lots of reading and watching videos on youtube, I discovered that the best drive roller for flux core is V-knurled. So I started looking around to see if I can buy another drive roller and maybe even other sizes and shapes etc.
However, it seems the Mig 106 doesn't come with a standard / easy to find drive roller.
For example, the drive shaft is round with a screw and the roller itself when I measured it looks like it is 25mm diameter (and +/- 7mm thick). The best I can find for this shaft is 30mm diameter. Looks like all the 25mm ones uses a square drive.
I started making contact with Clarke International that then bounced me to Machine Mart who told me that they don't sell any drive rollers but can only do a direct replacement (sale of parts) for their machines. It also seems near impossible to get any specs or details from either of them so that I can see if more options can be sourced.
My main concern here is that I own a nice shiny machine that is really only geared to using 0.6 / 0.8mm wire + GAS and that I would find it very hard to source parts for in the future.
Does anybody know of sellers that sell the correct drive rollers (V-groove, V-knurled, 0.6 to 1mm range etc.) for this machine?
It could be just a simple matter that 0.9mm flux core wire works a dream on 0.8mm drive roller that came with the machine and that this is less of an issue than I think.
