I think the plan is to put the guard just behind the front seats rather than just behind where the back seats were,,If the seats have been taken out, you dont need seat belts. Remove the seat belts and then use the seatbelt holes to mount the dog guard.
I would ask mine as I know the place.why not just ask the garage that does your MOT's, surely they could advise officially, at the end of the day, they'd be testing it....
