I use the usuall drill tins and strips. But I also have a Beta top chest that is just for mills and drills. I keep meaning to score the next bisley multi draw unit going cheap/free I see and it for drill storage.
Funny, I've just got up to design a drill tray for a load of MT3 Drill bits from 13mm to 30mm in .5 increments, I bought, but then I'm lucky as I'll email it to work and the new Amada Turret Punch will effortlessly do the hard work.
Meanwhile I found the cheapo pound shops and the alike, have good selections of plastic bins and tins. Very cheap as well, as the likes of wurth charge a bloody fortune.
Did the poor boy version of that in my last workshop. Just made a shelf from a piece of wood and drilled it full of holes with a flat spade drill at aproximate spacings.
Used only a few hole sizes, one for all the mt1's, one for mt2 , one for the mt3's etc and right at the end had a larger spaced section to carry all the taper tailstock fittings for the lathe too.
Only regret is that I never made it with a cover to keep out dust/swarf. Mk2 will have one...
You can buy trolleys and prepunched blanks in the same manner now, but with regular spacing for eg int40 tapers so they can be used with a toolchanger...
