Dremel and clone drills

Does anyone know where to get specific bits or a bunch of specific bits? most suppliers do a pack of bits and in those pack of bits is bits that would never get used.

The pack in the link is one of those packs but I cannot find a supplier just selling the Pink grinding bits,the rest is just junk.

so anyone know where to find a supplier of those grinding bits only?

Google dremel grinding stones (no quotes) and click on shopping. Looking at the prices you'd be better off buying the ones in your link and throwing the brushes away, or sell them back on Ebay.

Thats what I normally do.

I search for what I want and then look at the searched images and scroll for whats available by clicking on the image and going to the site where that image came from.

sadly no one seems to sell specific packs,just junk thrown in with what you need.

The proper name for what you are after is mounted points. If you go google you will see what i mean. There are a loads of places that do quantities of x type. If you want good quality try these guys the world leaders in their field http://www.kemet.co.uk/


They are no more expensive than other quality supplier. You should note there is a world of difference between cheapies and branded. The Kemet stuff last any from from 5 times to 10 times longer.

Also try polishing suppliers and jewelry making suppliers.

Aldi often do a box of the bits quite cheap, but have to agree that you seem to get what you pay for with these type of things. I find the Aldi cutting discs shatter easily and have yet to find a deburring bit that is as good as the original Dremmel bits.

I recently bought a pack of grinding stones that fit in an electric drill, from Toolstation or Screwfix. I use these to dress down welds where you can't reach with a grinder or powerfile. They were pretty cheap too.

You should note there is a world of difference between cheapies and branded. The Kemet stuff last any from from 5 times to 10 times longer.

A place I worked was clearing out a load of mounted points of all shapes years ago and I brought them home and have now run out. These were really good, some pink and some coarser in grey. I bought some replacements in a set with all the other fittings. They disappeared in front of my eyes and some of them broke up well before they wore out or the ball fell off the stem when you put pressure on them. You can get diamond electroplated burrs that do the same kind of job.

Yeah but I think I've missed the aldi ones that normally get sold in the early part of the year? otherwise I'd have bought two lots.
The Aldi cutting disc,are those the black wheel type? can't say I've had any problem with them,used them on brass,aluminium plate 1/2" thick and 1" brass bar,neither have i had a problem with the deburring bit.

Lower the speed of your drill to about halfway,like any cutting tool its about what speed to put the tool at in various metals that need cutting/turning.

The Aldi discs do work, though as you say you have to use them slowly, they just don't seem to last long and break easily. I have found the little sanding cylinders in the Aldi kit to be good though and the sets are so cheap they are certainly good value.

Class Ohlson also do copy Dremmel bits in individual packs. Not Aldi cheap but cheaper than the genuine thing.

I have looked at those type of sets half a dozen times, Flapdisk, but never committed to buying them because I was unsure what the quality would be like. Wish I'd read this earlier as I made an Amazon order today - they were selling rc helicopters for £7.50, but gone back up in price now. Will get a set next time.

Ok mate, I used one of them in my dremel to make a hole in some 4mm steel larger, I had to hold the dremel very carefully as it was like cutting butter. you must make sure you get these genuine ones though and not the cheaper Chinese knock offs they have on there as well
