Draper scissor lift

Does anyone have one of these?

This bearing just fell out of the bottom of mine but its not clear what it does, as the lift seems to work just fine without it.

If you have one I would appriciate a pic of the view from beneath.

Looks like it would just sit on the end of the screw but its not tight on there and doesn't seem to do anything there.

Its a thrust bearing supporting the end of the threaded bar, not a particularly good design as there doesn't seem a fixed location for it, but unfortunately that's part of cheap eastern products.

Looks to me like the thrust race is supposed to carry the weight as the scissors rise, the locking spacer at the drive end must have come loose for the bearing to drop out. The castellated nut and R clip is for adjustment, is there another thrust race at the drive end? I suspect not and the castellated nut is adjusted so there is no load taken at the drive end.

We at factory have good good idea...we will bearing put to your shaft and slide onto part is threaded,this makes velly velly nice action to side of thrust

You sure there shouldn't be a second thrust washer there - it may have turned itself into one of those pingfeckits.....

Correct, it is held in place with a grub screw that had come loose. No bearing at the other end.

I think it should be adjusted so that under load that locking spacer and the drive shaft spacer have clearance to the frame where the shaft passes through. That way the thrust washer takes the load and should wind up and down smoothly without wearing the frame.

Try "floor transmission lift" or "Low Lift Transmission Jack" Gerry, the one above is a Draper TJ200T and the Sealey equivalent is the TJ150E.

Thanks Mike..I'll take a look...don't need one but like the looks of it...a much bigger one would be handy for doing my roof save me walking up and down a ladder!!!

Yes I know...but I'd want to make one..... not hire one......and I'm too old now
