Draining fuel

I've got a full tank in one car, fumes in the one I want to use. Both Volvo v50 Diesels with anti syphoning bits so I'm wondering how the misfueling companies do it, where do they break into the system?
Asking for a friend, no really, I haven't put the wrong fuel in

Can you run it, and use the return? (clearly not how the mis fuel companies do it, and would take a while, but may be easy?)

Something like this should hold the anti-syphoning flap open:

Search on Amazon or eBay, or wherever, for "emergency diesel fuel filler".

Use diagnostics to activate the in tank fuel pump to drain the tank? Not sure if it’s possible on the V50 but certainly doable on loads of cars.

When I filled my diesel Mondeo with petrol the Tank doctor guy just shoved a slim hose down my filler and sucked it dry.

Possibly, I've seen lots of people mention it elsewhere, wouldn't it take an age having to go through the pump?
