Got this home this morning
Got it for a decent enough price - in NI these do not come up often no machine marts here etc. So someone got this sent over here in the past. PO was a small steam engine model maker so its done very little work. (Literally and figuratively)
It is a little rusty here and there I'll tidy that up a little but no resto! It's motor has 2019 year on it so I presume that's the age of the saw.
Needs some minor fettling and wondering what forum thoughts are on these items please:
Guy selling it bought it to re-sell. And when transporting it in his van he damaged the belt housing. I can bash the tin back and repaint it but one gear has a small section missing. I wonder should I just file the sharp edges and leave it, or try to use arc cast iron rods and tack the chunk back in? I have the chunk
Also - the blade appears to be running near off the drive wheels. Doesn't look like anything is worn or misshapen looks like bad adjustment so I hope I can address that by you tube etc.
Overall happy I found it and wanted one for a long time. It won't see much use with me either but I do have the odd small fab project so will be great for that. And crucially this type of saw is reasonably quiet in operation VS me using an angle grinder to cut in a built up town area.
