Geordie spell checker on the PC
Do not read this as a criticism of your grasp of English, but do so in the belief that it will point out the shortcomings of a reliance on technology.
You do need to know the basics to use the spellchecker, otherwise you will end up with this..
I do appeciate you`ll miss halve of this at least.

Miss steaks aye kin knot sea.
Eye ran this poem threw it
Your sure reel glad two no.
Its vary polished in it's weigh,
My checker tolled me sew.
A check her is a bless sing;
It freeze yew lodes of thyme.
It helps me right awl stiles two reed,
And aides me when aye rime.
Each frays come posed up on my screen
Eye trussed too bee a joule;
The checker pours o'er every word
To check some spelling rule.
Bee fore wee rote with checkers
Hour spelling was inn deck line,
Butt now when wee dew have a laps,
Wee are knot maid too wine.
Butt now bee cause my spelling
Is checked with such grate flare,
Their are know faults with in my cite,
Of nun eye am a wear.
Now spelling does knot phase me,
It does knot bring a tier;
My pay purrs awl due glad den
With wrapped words fare as hear.
To rite with care is quite a feet
Of witch won should be proud;
And wee mused dew de best wee can
Sew flaws are knot aloud.
That's why eye brake in two averse
Cuss eye dew want too please.
Sow glad eye yam that aye did bye

By the way John, I was watching some of your videos a few nights ago, and was so saddened to hear of Debs diagnosis.
My sincere hope that she does not allow it to rule her. My mother was diagnosed and in surgery in '77, long before there was much more in the way of treatment. She is still kicking me around when I visit.

.The proper sound of the North-East on those vids, keep it up Doubleboost! Having been born in Ryton, Country Durham (moved Sarf when I was six), having a mum whop still retains a straightened Geordie accent to this day and paying regular visits to relatives in Newcastle when I was growing up I've a fighting chance of understanding most folk from this neck of the woods, but one who near defeated me was my uncles brother-in-law who lived in Whitley Bay who in conjunction with being very softly-spoken used every piece of Geordie slang going in his everyday speech, resulting in me sometimes sitting looking like a drooling idiot as I nodded and smiled whilst desperately trying to make my brain process what he was saying

I reckon if John Mills had a television programme on maybe BBC4, it would be a massive hit. Especially in this day and age of, ahem, "makers"...

Actually, I may have to disagree.
YouTube is the way forwards and John is already a well known maker. TV would be a step backwards imho.
The next generation of viewers want online, interactive, personal choice not the static programming we all grew up with. It is set to go ballistic...

This youtube thing has certainly taken off
It is very humbling in many ways but very rewarding
I have friends all over the world.
I still enjoy making videos
Now I get a bit revenue back so I can buy better video equipment etc
As long as I am getting views and good comments I will continue

I look forward to the new videos that John puts up. My brother got me into them earlier this year. I've learned a huge amount from them.
I actually spend a great deal of time watching the earlier night caps too. I could watch them all day. I learn a lot from Stefan Gotteswinter as well, but my favourite is John.
I take the point made about YouTube completely. My comment about BBC was meant to say that I think Mr. Mills is so enthusiastic and puts things across so well that his videos would be watched by interested laymen with as much enjoyment as by the likes of us.

Drill sharpening is a funny thing for me.
I was an aircraft technician and it was a complete and utter no no. There was no way, on pain of an excruciating death, you were allowed to go near an aeroplane or part thereof with anything other than a pristine drill.
Was this right? Probably not, but it was a policy designed to prevent the one time in a thousand that would cause an all mighty balls up.
As a result, I've fought shy of the subject for years, despite having done it in other industries after leaving aviation. I've done it with some success, but I've never really felt I was doing it "right"....so be nice to see it done that way!

I could kick you for resurrecting this thread.
Several hours gone watching John, Keith Fenner & Oxtools. On a slight tangent, nice to see even a machinist can have a hard time with extractors.
Hey get to the back of the queue....already requested a dti cleaning video. Only one Sunday in a week.
