Motor pulley moves up and down so I am thinking the housing?has the motor pully become loose...bearings normaly are very loud well before you get vibration issues so personly i cant see it being that on a little westbury

but is it roller bearing or bronze bushes quite a lot of motors are bushed u realy need to check. take the end plate offThe pulley is firm on the shaft. If I grap hold of the pulley and pull up and down the shaft moves up and down in the motor.

Ah sounds like you ahead of me!I will do in the morning. It's got to be at least 40 years old. It rumbles and vibrates like buggery!
How does the motor feel when you turn it? Failed roller bearings will be lumpy. Is there any side play in the shaft? Turn the mill over by hand and see if the problem is there.
