door that slides around a corner

I need to cover off a door opening, 3ft X 8ft with a door. The width of the room inside is 3ft 6. Its in a windy place thus I cant fabricate a swing door and have it open outwards.. It is for shed beside the house so it needs to be a respectable looking door.

Thus I would like to install a door that slides around a corner.

Does anyone have any ideas or experience.

A door catch, to keep the door open, perhaps? Or a sliding door, with runners top and bottom, a bit like hangar doors.

Maybe I'm missing something but why not fit a standard door that opens inwards?

Sliding garage doors used to be quite common where I grew up (very rarely seen now - mainly up & over these days).
Some ideas & suppliers, essentials are are profiled track to hang the door from (and space - it needs to be straight above the door then curve 90* in the corner of the room. Do you have space?), also a track in the floor, door fittings - rollers at the top, sliding peg at the bottom..)

It might be possible to repurpose a door closer, so that it damps the door in both directions. Removing the return spring, if necessary.

I've not used one but this type's becoming popular in domestic cabnietry. Maybe you can adapt the principal.

yes something like this I have in mind. How tight can you go on bend radius for the track i wonder.

wind is from the west, the door faces north. Cant have a regular swing door and open it outwards. Could open it inwards but its a v small room that once housed an oil fired boiler, and opening it inwards makes it even smaller.

Piano hinge, radius would be defined by the width of the wood strips, if you hung the runners then run a strong pelmet (metal form) with bearings then the door would lever against it and stop it flapping about.
I can see this clearly in my head, and I'm possibly not describing it well enough? Actually wouldn't need to be a piano hinge, just multiple butt hinges would work.
