yeah I was there, but only have internet access at home, and don't have a smartphone when on the move. Since the beginning of this year I've been thinking about making a model steam engine and boiler, as Im I find the sound and motion of an idling steam engine to be very theraputic. So next winter I'm thinking of making one a project, not sure if it'll be a small beam engine or double vertical engine with reversing gear. Trouble is though that its another project, and here's one I started over 20 years ago for a 1" scale model steam lorry, the flywheel o/d is 50mm for scale.

ohh and this is what I got today (since you guys are nosey and like to know these things)
View attachment 141474
a book on boiler making,
a length of silver steel
a die holder,
a small offcut of steel bar,
a couple of centre drills
an edge finder
a set of M% tap
and six 8mm carbide end mills
I've already got a few of these carbide endmills that I haven't used yet, but I got the last that the seller had and at £4 each it would be rude not to and they will last me a few years
I did like this little engine, its is about 100mm long, I guess it has a nice motion to watch when running (its the simple things that make me happy)

and something that made me smile was a sign that said something like......
"I was born to complete projects, but I'm that far behind with them, I'll never die"

Whats the die holder like Optima ? I have plenty of good quality tap handles, but any die stocks i have are appalling cheap junk, i'd buy a few better ones if i knew they were worth buying.
