Domestic water pipe crimp fittings for PEX and for copper

I need to know about them. The current house has PEX pipe and fittings that look like the one below. I can't find them from my usual suppliers, BES, Toolstation et al, are they discontinued or otherwise unobtainable?



Spawn's house has copper pipe and what look to be crimped fittings.

Can one tool do both systems? If not then what recommendations are there for PEX pipes? DIY use only and not very many times.

Or should I just use plastic push fit fittings?

Measure the pipe as it might be 16mm.
We're seeing more of that european stuff on site these days in the welfare cabins etc. Difficult to get the fittings in a hurry when some bell cheese has cut through the pipes...

I know they are big in the U.S - they seem to do a lot of crimp fittings on plastic.

Yes, it's a shade over 16mm. Which is a nuisance.

I can move the washing machine but I'll have to source another tee piece for the hot pipe to a new sink.

I'm sure PEX do a 16mm to 15mm comp straight which gets you back to what ever you want. It's a pita.

I've swapped a couple of fittings, very simple as they use an O ring to seal. The link to the underfloor heating site confirms what I thought about in the early hours this morning. The kitchen sink has 16mm tails and then is connected to 15mm copper. Being as the house has underfloor heating I suspect the builder of the house used up the PEX pipe but didn't want to buy another coil just for the few more metres needed.

I've also found crimped 15mm copper on the central heating hot water air source heat pump system.

A couple of these should do it, one either side of a suitable bit of copper with a tee piece I think.
