Domestic plumbing question ?

Will be installing a new kitchen sink and tap for my Mum later this week.
The original was installed before it was normal practice to use stop valves so these will be installed at the same time.
What are the best type to use ? I've had experience of the small type valves with plastic knobs and I've found they sieze up and the knobs just end up turning on the spindle. So is there a high quality type or should I just use industrial type ball valves with stainless and PTFE internals ?

I use the isolating valves with no handles just a screwdriver slot ,use them at work too no problems so far

Same as Gav, use the isolating valves at home & work with no problems.

Isolating valves as above, you will not have any problems with them seizing up

pegler probably make the best... but £££, any BS marked items will be good, cheapo's... well some are some are not, for 2-3 not worth the potential failure

just wach out cos theres sum real cheap sh ./././t ones and they leak after a year o 2 when u turn them off and back on

Don't know what make we have at work but they have been turned on & off at least once a month for the past 5 years with no problems so must be a good make!

Ballofix are definitely the ones to get - ive installed many round the house and replaced cheap isolation valves with the ballofix ones - much more robust.
