I forgot the various other options of "made up", "sounds about right", "picked out of thin air" or "it'll be the same as that one down the road the other week".

If I recall you can phone the DNO and ask the theoretical Ze for a particular supply. Or, ideally fire up your earth loop impedance tester to confirm.

I must re-test mine out of interest. Some years before and certainly after a recent overhead line "upgrade" I have, according to the sticker, PME available at the 100A incomer but my side I'm still on rods & a plate.

I've got to install a couple of extra rods under the floor before new flooring goes down, I got a reading of 25 ohms ,at week.

I got down to I think 21.5 ohms with a 4' 5/8" rod + bfo copper earth plate + a second 4' 5/8" rod all spaced out in a line. Bottom of a valley with very thin top soil and a flint bed just under the surface.

I'm on a clay mound as I found out when trying to dig a soak away a couple of years ago. There is chalk and flint 200 yards down the lane
We're near a very rare chalk stream but just at the boundaries of London clay.
