Licking the vomit and unmentionable stains off of the seats should keep them quiet for a few miles.

Yes i have rebuilt 5 M9r engines( 2.0) and 2 1.9...i think the 1.9 with a nice re-map is the better motor. I have a 1.9 with an aggressive re-map (higher fuel pressure and boosting to just under 30psi) cat gutted , new turbo with a cold air feed and it goes like stink. Injectors are on max duty higher up the rpm so cant push any more.As it is a pack of wolves a Vivaro is probably ideal.
Vivaro, Traffic, Primastar all the same thing and you see plenty of older ones around which tells you something and they're a bit small for the average courier so you can still get hold of them. Plus they don't seem to rust like the Ford offering and parts are cheap.
I don't know much about the 2.0 but I've got an older (2006) 2.5 that I've had for about 8 years and apart from an engine rebuild (cambelt fail) it's been faultless and for a 20 year old van is in good nick (rust free).
I think @roofman might run Traffic / Vivaro and did a thread about rebuilding an engine a while back?
