I know its not the question, but its cheaper to buy, tax and insure a car and your not going to get much van for 5K.

Just pick the hatchback of your choice and leave the backseats folded down, unless you've got a pack of huskies, then it might be a different matter, in which case take your pick, you'll get horror stories about anything.

The 5k is the problem, vans at that money tend to have had a hard life! Id be looking for an estate car.

the fridge vans we have a work you wouldnt want.. ours tend to idle a lot of the day

Seems to be a fair amount of Vivaro type vans around 2010ish with the 2.0D engine for reasonable money and reasonable miles, a bit of research might have to be done, an estate car wont work as ideally it needs to have no side windows
