The variety of subjects on this forum never ceases to amaze

We have a scatty 18 month old black lab who although well trained, delights in digging in the garden and laying in the hole she has just dug, as well as doing her 'jobs'. Missus cleans up after the dog, but the dog still ends up carrying soil from the garden in the house. It's all tiled but even so we need to stop it.
We're going to pave the back so most of the soil will be gone anyway, but still need to give the dog somewhere to do her jobbies. A patch of gravel won't help as she'll just have it all over. Anyone got any ideas? What about a bit of fake grass that can be hosed down?
She gets taken out regularly (dog, not mrs
), but for early hours and in the morning she will still get chucked out the back for a weewee.
