Dog fence

If all goes to plan we will be moving soon. We still have one small dog but need to limit the part of the patio she has access to so she doesn't fall down some steps, easier to clean deposits too.
So I need some easily removable fencing that can be erected on a flagged patio, I thought off the netting stuff used around swimming pools but as always some one on here will have a solution.

Look up dog pens readily available and pretty cheap, I’ve got a couple I use as temporary fencing to block bits of garden off from the dog ,

i used proper galvanised steel fencing with a gate and then fitted chicken wire against it whilst fastening it with cable ties even the gate had chicken wire fastened to it

whilst access was handy it kept a small dog within the area and it was worth it as you could tend to the garden whilst not worrying where the dog was

alternative i could use is wood and chicken wire fence used with fencing ,mesh pins as its easy enough to drill a hole and hit a mesh pin through the drilled hole easy enough to fill up afterwards

I've used 50 mm 3mm thick galvanised weld mesh 2x1 mtr sheets . cut and trimmed then cable ties . Currently they cost £50 a sheet but 20yrs ago when I had them I was able to fold them up and bring them here to use as pea and bean growing frames .

is ur dog vary mobile....?
there are available dog pens for pups n small dogs
loads'a diff sizes....they clip together to make a square....
they r 40x40 box with fitted wire and use long pins to lock the sides / corners together...
we have a couple for v young pups.....best thing if n when u finish using it u can get a lot of your money back....

Its a perfectly safe and sensible way to control a doggy.

I see you didnt like the ball and chain. Admittedly chain is going to be noisy and irritating but a anchored retractable lead could be set with a max distance

I was shopping in TheRange tonight and notice they now allow "well controlled doggies", and I dont mind that, except the one behind me in the queue was a noisey little bgger, constantly barking and jumping and kept getting too close. I told the woman to keep it away as it was close feeling my boot.
There was another that was actually well behaved and was no problem.

I do not think dogs should be in shops, they should tie them up outside like they always used to. Imagine a larger dog getting set free in a supermarket. It would be chaos.

I've seen several dogs empty themselves with in shops with the owners simply dragging the dog away as if nothing had happened .

In a Harvester grub pub called the Copper Pan in Swansea today , a fat female trout faced creature came in with an even fatter male and their two rats on strings . They kept jumping to the table as she was finger feeding them stuff from off her plate ........ YUK !

None of my dogs were ever allowed within 10 feet of us when we were eating even if this meant us eating fast food crap outside the slop house.

Tone, vibrate, then ramping up shock levels as they approach the fence. It depends on how stubborn the dog is. Mark the hidden radio wire with the little white flags in the kit so doggo has a visual thing for training & once its learned after a week or so and a couple of shocks if its stubborn, it will stop at the tone. After a month, it wont even trigger the tone. You can take the training flags away after a few weeks because it associates the area and tone with the boundary. If you unplug the fence it will take a week or two for the dog to notice its stopped beeping and decide to escape. To take doggo out for walks, pass through the house, or have them jump in the boot of a car.

Sounds cruel, but imho its much more humane than them escaping and running loose and being shot by a farmer or being ran over & causing a accident. Or like happened to my neighbor who's dog got loose for 20 minutes, be blamed for the death of a sheep that had no wounds and looked like it'd drowned but was destroyed before a vet or police arrived, have to pay the farmer compensation and have the police force them to have their dog put down.
