Does the PT-31 circle cutter fit the R-Tech P30C Cutter

Have you seen the simple Swag Offroad Circle Cutter?

Looks good.. Has anyone use it? I assume the tip goes in the hole.. What stops it from 'shorting' against the cutter?

Edit: Been looking at this.. If you wanted to cut a hole.. Could you use a length of steel with a hole in each end.. One for the center point.. The other for the torch tip?

If so, I am not sure I even need a hole cutter as I could just make this up each time I wanted a hole (just a bit of steel with 2 holes drilled in).. .

My assumption was this had to be "insulated" so that it didn't short.. But if its really as simple as putting the torch in a hole, I am going back to basics and will make my own!.

Not exactly.. But you say "easy" and "friend with a lathe" and for me thats a contradiction as I have no such resource.

What I should have said was that I made the perspex centre piece with just a hole-saw of the correct size to cut a plug the same as the internal diameter of the speaker magnet. I then opened up the hole-saw pilot hole from 1/4" to 10mm. Using 5 minute epoxy I bonded the sleeve I made from 10mm hydraulic tube into this hole, and then bonded the perspex into the speaker magnet. The sleeve has a bore of 8mm and so my friend is turning me up a new centre-point that slots into the sleeve and fits the circle cutter arm for me.

Out of curiosity, if you use a magnetic eyebolt as your centre pivot, how will you position it accurately on the dot punch mark?

Why would I need to position it on a dot punch mark? Why would I even need a dot punch? If I wanted a circle of steel, I would position the magnet and rotate the arm until I could go all around without going off the edge of the sheet.

I assume to are talking about cutting an opening where of course the position would be important. In those cases, I would have to use the 'point' instead (or a screw hole version that I am also working on)

To be honest, the whole thing is up in the air now, as if the "Swag" solution works.. Then I am intreagued why we even need a complex circle cutter, when a length of steel with 2 holes would work just as well..
