Why is it that when I'm on the motorway (which is a lot) with 50mph average speed cameras, I feel like I'm the slowest person even though I'm doing 50mph?
Because a lot of people don't give a toss for the camara and just nail it anyway

I don't think they understand what average meansThe number of people you see nailing it between the camera's then slowing down as they go underneath never ceases to amaze!!

I was once told by a brake down rescue that the camera's are not interlinked. Change lane as soon as you pass a camera and an average speed cannot be computed. I have never put it to the test!
I believe that used to be the case, not any more.
I regularly end up overtaking people at an indicated 50mph. Am lucky that the old car I have has cruise control. I checked the Speedo against sat nav once and it was very close to spot on, I'm sure a lot of people's speedos significantly under read though and keeping exactly to the limit is no where near as easy using your foot alone. Maybe your car is under reading too?
There is a limitation of the SPECS system in that they only work in pairs, an entry and an exit camera so if you do not go through both of the paired cameras they will not have a reading. The problem is not all of the cameras installed are SPECS ones and you do not know which are paired (they may swap lanes and may not be adjacent sets of cameras)
