Does anyone use BA threads?

Apparently BA threads, (nuts and bolts), are only used now by model enthusiasts, possibly clock makers and I don't know who else. Anyway the point of this thread is a couple of years ago I bought a job lot of taps and dies and only this afternoon did I get the chance to sort out this box of joy. The metric and imperial I'm keeping, however I now have a fairly complete set of BA taps from size #0 to size #8. See enclosed photo. I don't think I'm ever going to use them, so if they are of any use to anyone on here let me know. As they are so little they could easily go in the post. They seem in top knotch condition and look pretty damn new to me. Don't nesscarily want money, but something small and interesting in return? That could be posted? Failing that I'll find a model engineering forum. Could be of use to anyone?

Yes, popular for modelers but even we have gone metric now mostly.

Aww, crap, i didn't think these would be of any use to anyone. What would you use them for? Got anything small interesting and tool related that would go in a jiffy bag to France cheaply? Value I had in mind was about twenty quid?

I have a corkscrew and bottle opener incidentally.

I'm tempted to say he or she who has the best application for them, gets 'em. Show us what you do.

I think the bloke they came from was in the process of going metric, never seen so many M3 and M4 taps in my life.

BA Threads were originally defined by the British Association as a first stab at metrication back in 1884

I'd have use for some of the smallest ones restoring old smiths chronometric speedos. I had to buy a 6ba tap a couple months ago!

Erm, but I don't know what I'd offer... Need any D-shaped Speedo spares??

its been a while since I've used BA sizes, but here are my 8ba, 10ba, 12ba and 14ba taper taps (with a 5p piece for scale). the smaller sizes are scary to use as you see the flutes twisting and you never know when they'll snap on you.

Wow, my set only goes up to 8ba which for me is too small, let alone 12 or 14.

Excusivemite and Bullet2012 are there any particular sizes you want or were you both after the whole set?
