I often find that, instead of doing something significant on my project (the rear quarters and back panel are almost ready to fit, if I just do a few more checks and trims on them) I am increasingly putting it off by scraping off underseal, or applying rust treatment, or something else. I console myself by the fact that all this stuff needed doing sooner or later, and I've just ticked another thing off the list. The fact that putting the back end together would give the shell enough strength to go on the rollover thing so I could fix everything that remains underneath is neither here nor there. I've done the job before, I don't quite understand why I'm putting it off - it's been "almost ready" for at least a month.
As for tidying up I'm actively resisting putting any more worktops in my shed now, because all I do is cover them in junk. I've got a lot of steel offcuts on the main bench - the kind of weird shaped stuff that's too big to scrap because it (or part of it) will be useful at some point - but I can't put them in a box out of the way because I've already got quite a few similar boxes of stuff. I do try to put tools away, but I'm slacking there as well. I wouldn't mind quite so much if this meant I was surging ahead with the project, or even with tidying the front corner of the shed so I can put up some racking I've been given that would in turn allow me to keep the place tidier. I've reached that saturation point where I can't do anything like that without putting a car outside.
