Toolpost is too small for your lathe. The tool holders on my chipmaster are 73 mm long. The tool holders I had on a student and a triumph were the same except the toolpost on the triumph was higher. how masny tool holders do you have?
Looks like they will get sold -drat. I had 5 or 6 holders with the post. If anyone's interested shout out, I will check what I paid for them.
Thanks
The other problem is the center height is too low, too small a toolpost and you'll be winding the height adjustment all the way down, potentially putting packing underneath smaller tools too just to get them to cut on center. You could probably put a spacer under the toolpost but then you're losing precious rigidity.! would keep your Q/C toolpost for the time being until something better turns up. I have the same size on a chipmaster and it has never moved taking large cuts.
As the tool post only has 2 slots (?) I guess it is the smallest one, the one RGD call Myford size, if so I could be interested should you decide to move it on depending on price and if it is an original or copy.Looks like they will get sold -drat. They do look a bit big but I have not seen a 2 way one in the larger sizes before. The Myford one will take a 12mm tool but it sits above centre on a Myford but not on a Drummond M , I just measured my RDG Myford size one the block is 58mm square in plan view.Edit to add, they look a bit big for myford - I'll have to check on mine...
