Wiss are a good brand of aviation snips, you`ll want at least three of them, left, right and straight cut. Then theres specialty snips in each style too. The old fashioned metal body snips are always good to have a few of as well, they come in various 'cuts' too. Here in aus your looking at about $35 for mid range trade quality snips and is your doing much sheet work they are worth their weight in gold, if you do a lot of sheet work you`ll find you wind up with a fair collection of various snips.

Another shout for Midwest snips. Prosnip used to be my favorite but they got bought out and are now Irwin (don't know how much they've been cheapnesed though). Wiss are also outsourced these days and apparently now cast rather than forged although they'll still be miles better than a set of three for 9.99 from the likes of SIP etc

Most are typically rated to 1.2mm mild and 0.8 stainless although as said there's various speciality flavours, Midwest bulldog for example has shorter jaws and will handle 16swg mild.
