Diverting overflows from hot water system

I'm fitting a new conservatory (£50 off the 'bay ) to replace an old porch at mums.

Unfortunately, it's a little wider than the old one (12ft instead of 10ft).
We have a pair of overflow pipes from the hot water boiler which run vertically down the wall then bend at the bottom into a grate

One is copper, the other plastic.
I need to move the bend in the pipes to the top of the pipes - effectively moving them over about 12inches - otherwise I'll have to cut holes in the roof and wall.

I'm aware that, technically, I'm not supposed to make alterations without a gas safe certificate.
But it's only the water overflow!
Is there any (practical) reason I can't make the alteration?

I would think as long as you don't leave any places in the new pipework where water would stand and freeze in the winter effectively blocking the overflow it will be OK.

I don't think you have any worries regarding certification. They're the pressure release valve and condensate pipes. Bear in mind, if there is a pressure problem, the copper pipe can squirt boiling water out, so make sure it finishes in a position where it is going to allow safe exit of the water. The condensate is slightly acidic, not dangerously so, but you'd want to make sure that that also drains properly. As stated above, you do not want any standing water in either pipe.

This has now become a rhetorical question.
Its now going to be moved to the opposite end of the house - avoiding all the drains pipes.

dont move those pipes to far away from the boiler they are meant for quick release for safety

if you need to do you can dog leg them to move them over out of the way

BTW trace heating on the condensate pipe is money well spent. You can get one that is OK with plastic some are not
