Basically i am still getting the hang of warping and avoiding it, welding up a rear AA housing for a buggy project from 6mm m/s plate, when running my 1st beads i checked my clamping every which way possible was enough, it wasnt or i wouldnt be writing this post lol. i then tacked braces in to prevent further movement which worked but of course i still have some original warping.
the pic below came from this webpage online incise its of any use to people. http://www.twi.co.uk/technical-knowledge/job-knowledge/distortion-corrective-techniques-037/
Has anyone used this technique using weld beads to pull the metal back flat as i have no oxy acetylene
But my guess is this will weaken the joints considerably. also would oxy weaken the joints in any serious way?
