OK, sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm quite new to this welding lark.
I'm about to start on a car restoration project which I've had for a while.
I bought a MIG welder some time back but have not had the courage to actually start on the car yet. Some practice welds I did on bits of scrap metal did not go too well, so guess more practice is needed.
The car needs a fair bit of welding - sills, arches & floorpan mainly but also the wings will need doing and then there is the boot floor and front crossmember...
I got a disposable cannister with the welder but am wondering how long they are going to last...how many I am going to need...how much welding can actually be done with 1 cannister ?
Would it be better ( cheaper ) to get a proper cylinder and if so where from ?
Located in SE England, Kent / East Sussex border.
Is there anywhere in my area that runs some basic welding courses ?
Any advice gratefully received.
