i have an empty disposable gas bottle that is hanging around doing nothing. i was thinking that it could be a nice little box for keeping all the welding bits in (tips, shrouds, brush etc). i was just thinking of cutting it in half, lengthways, then welding two hinges on and a catch on the other side.
it was a pure argon bottle so no flammable material in there. what i was thinking of doing was either putting the regulator on and opening it up while cutting to ensure it doesnt heat up any residual gas. or the end of the bottle has a bolt head on the threaded part, which i was thinking could maybe be undone before cutting to leave a nice big opening. would that actually work? or are there safety concerns i have not considered here?
