Dishwasher tripping rcd

The dishwasher tripped the rcd ~ 5 times during its cycle today. All is well with the mains plug, anyone else seen an issue like this?

Maybe internally but no external signs, I pulled it out of its recess to check for leaks and the mains plug. All dry below.

they certainly do ive had a few cooker elements that would blow when hot but not when cold so assume it could be that

got a megger ?

Yes they can. If you can reach it disconnect the wires and meter it out. Both terminals should give a high resistance to earth and if you measure across the two terminals you should get roughly 25 ohms.

Repaired dryer looked like I had a fight with a tiger and as for self tapers a Piranha would love a set

I had similar on a washing machine. Pump spindle sea had a very slight weep and the cooling fan turned it into a fine mist, causing it to trip.

That's what you get for replacing the consumer unit lol.

I have a megger somewhere if you want to borrow it. Probably not worth the grief of trying to fix though.

just bin it and move on....
our white goods get a good look over if/when they go down...
after 2-3 years of hard work, no easy fix they go........life is to short.....

bought a new Zannusi elec cooker trouble from the start, intemitant therm/stat...every time the guy comes out it works....1 year old.....
when we remod the kitchen this spring it will get replaced and not with Zannusi.....lol...

It can run away a bit, my Beko dishwasher had a new pump, seals, spray bar and a load of my time a few weeks before it went in the scrap bin. I think I spent about fifty percent of the price of a new one on it before it got binned.

I had a washer do similar, and all it was was a loose terminal inside the 13A plug. Worth he hassle of checking (or wiring a new plug on if it's moulded type) before binning?

The door harness is worth a look, subject to a lot of heat cycles and regular bending at the hinge point

Old kitchen with dodgy dishwasher.

Since this will be the new kitchen in a couple of weeks, I think I'll treat it to a new machine.

Makes sense as I'm fairly busy...

Mine tripped the RCDs when I found a water leak from the heating element. £14 and one electric shock later it was all fixed.

Our dishwasher started playing up, tempremental, thought about a new model but too expensive.
She's fine now the HRT has kicked in.
