dishwasher salvage ?

Anything worth salvaging from a dish washer ? Pumps, motors, valves ?

I saw one in a skip yesterday and wondered what goodies were inside.

Flat sides good for art work. Plus practise to weld thin metal.

Drum can make a good fire pit, if metal.

Wiring is good, some have 1mm2 and 1.5mm2 with thicker stuff for motor.

A few double pole and single pole switches.

Motors can be salvage. But there is vast range, so home work needed.

Some have roller castors on the bottom, normally 2. Good for adding to a bench.

Mains cable is normally 3 core, with keeping hold off.

You may find it breaks to 2 core inside, good for grinder repairs.

nowt to loose to open and have a peek.

Dishwashers don't have drums or motors.

There's a pump (suds)? Solenoid valve(s) (I've used them for compressed air). Heating element

The inside may be stainless steel. Hose clips.

Mine broke down in the kitchen.
So I made her a coffee and gave her a pat on the shoulder.
Took her back and shortened the chain.

Its just usually a pump and a heater element in them plus a valve for adding water, there might be a drain pump, which would be a low power shaded pole. The water usually pushes the arms around, so there's not usually a motor in them.
Some powder couted steel for the sides and some stainless sheet from the inside. Most of the gubbims are in the bottom

Our Old one had SS removable trays. A quick nip and tuck and my friend has them in a de greasing tank.

A salvaged water solonoid valve out of our old one replaced the burnt out one in my Mums shower!

Flip it upside down and you should be easily able to get the pumps out. I've got setup one as a suds pump and its brilliant.
