I had already removed the rear floor so to remove the rear crossmember I just removed the two fixing bolts and jacked the rear up and supported the weight of the vehicle on two props under the top of the door frame then just lowered the vehicle back down.This took all the weight off the rear crossmember and I was able to then remove the old one and fit the new one in with no problems.
