These are the ones that spring to mind. If I see a big fat washer or nut I’ll usually requisition it too, if not just for curiosity! The plaque was off a huge walk in refrigerator in an abandoned science lab. The hammer head I found whilst walking around an old complex of buildings - Picard, made in Germany. Cross pein hammers are unusual and this is a 2lb so some nice weight there. It was very rusty but cleaned up like new.

that's a bum excuse just to tea leaf stuff and justify it most of that stuff would be gone if it was near us . one building they stripped the overhead gantry crane out all they left was the 2 long concrete and steel runners the cross frame was sat on they would have needed a wagon with a hiab on

My mate was at a party and a man asked him if he could help move all the meat from the freezer to his car, to which he obliged. The man thanked him, got in his car and drove off. My mate then went back into the flat and a girl who lived there was screaming that someone had just stolen all of their food... he left, quickly, hoping nobody had recognised him as being an accessory to the theft!

I recall, at age 14 idly passing by a furniture store and seeing two blokes in brown coats loading up a box van.
Later on, I found they'd been bare-facedly nicking the store's contents.
An early example of looking the part and getting away with it.
