So folks, painted my engine bay yesterday and although I’m sure spraying an engine bay with the car on a rotisserie is easier than painting one with the engine in situ, it’s not without its own issues.

The engine bay of a 1980s Toyota is quite compact, so getting light in there and keeping the gun at a constant distance from the panel is difficult. Add to that the undulating nature of the inner wings and I had a recipe for runs and dry spots

So I’m after advice for remedying this. I’m guessing that I can wet flat the runs out with 400 or 600 (?). I’ve also seen tool for removing runs that resemble stencils… are these good?
