Hi folks,
Hope you don't mind me jumping a in with a question right off the bat, so here goes.
Reading reviews, watching various YouTube channels narrowed my search to half a dozen models or so, at the top of the list is a 3M Speedglas 100 entry model. This is based on feedback/reviews but also the fact it has both UV and IR filters as part of the filter, from their Q & A page
Are the 3M™ Speedglas™ Auto-Darkening Filters as safe as a passive filter?
Yes, Speedglas auto-darkening welding filters provide constant protection (shade 13 equivalent) from ultraviolet and infrared (UV/IR) radiation regardless of whether the filter is in the light or dark state or whether the auto-darkening function is operational.
This was a basic requirement as reviews often commented on intermittent darkening or getting 'flashed', however very few of the alternatives mention the above the exception being The Welders Warehouse

A question we get asked regularly is:
“Are Automatic Welding Helmets Safe, what happens if the mask does NOT darken when I strike an arc?”.
Well that’s where it gets a bit clever. All The Welders Warehouse Auto Welding Masks have a special coating that filters out UV to the equivalent of at least shade 15 glass. This coating is permanent, meaning you get shade 15+ protection from UV, even when the mask is in the Light Mode.
The mask is okay but maybe viewing area is a little on the small size, great price though.
Also on the list is the Bolle Fusion (PDF data sheet), and..

..the TECHNO 11 TRUE COLOR (PDF data sheet)
https://www.gys.fr/pdf/datasheet/uk/064997.pdf
Both of these have great specs with although the switching times for Bolle light to dark is much faster at 0.10 sec v 0.60 sec Techno 11.
Both have similar references to UV/IR protection in DIN standards, there's also no mention if part of the filter as standard.
TECHNO 11 TRUE COLOR - Protection degrees UV/IR DIN 15
Bolle - Clear state DIN 4
Couldn't find any info on DIN standards, plenty for EN as on some of the data sheets - any feedback appreciated.
Cheers
