Or just choke off the inletOnly problem with this is stopping it if it works, you will have to throw yourself into the timing belt, OR pinch the fuel hose.
But where is the fun in that ?Think l prefer pinching the fuel hose if I'm honest![]()
But not with the palm of your hand. My uncle did this years ago, and had the skin ripped off. Had a triangular tear about three inches each way that had to be sewn back and had the scars. It bloody hurt too.Or just choke off the inlet![]()
2.5tdi 5-pot as fitted to transporters and LT's up to I think 2006-ish (as I know of & have worked on 2 LT's with the same engine & old-school injection system - an LT46 from 2002, and an LT35 from 2006). No fuel pump in the tank. Not sure of what engine you have in that, ones that have the injection pump driven from the rear of the camshaft don’t have an electric pump in the fuel tank and rely on the injection pump to draw fuel from the tank. The leak off blanking cap on the one injector can perish and let air in which causes problems. So with these slacken the injection pipes at the injectors and crank the engine as long as the battery and starter are in good condition until fuel is delivered to the injectors. With the more modern vw’s with no conventional injection pump the fuel pump in the tank can be commanded on with a scan tool or repeated cycling the ignition key to prime the system.
