Diesel instead of heating oil for a brief period?

After hearing this engine running on it I'd just avoid kerosene altogether for any diesel engines. Maybe it would work with some oil in it but you'd really want to not care about the engine to try it

What If I saved the sunflower oil dregs from the tuna and mackrel tins? Only half joking...

For some time I ran our discovery on beef dripping. Admittedly I swapped about the molecules a bit before hand.

Late model Caterpillar diesels will run on avtur and kero, but they have specific instructions as to how much lub oil to add per litre of fuel. It's not something you'd want to get wildly wrong. Iirc, there's a limit to how long a period Caterpillar recommend.
All other makes are an unknown to me. I've never ran a diesel on straight kero, but did a lot of biodiesel at one point.
