Diesel filter ( Canaline boat engine ) ?

Hi all.

I had a job on servicing a Canaline 40 engine and got a full service kit and as it should came with the correct filters etc.

The fuel filter being a KYT4682-43172 with the removeble bung to drain the filter on removing it.

But for the diesel filter on the engine is wrong and an FT6500. which has no bung to swap ver tothe new filter as what should be done as the new filter are not provided with one.

I have two choices, either find a bung,which i am unable to. I have spoke to three suppliers today and they dont sell the bung on its own. Or get the FT6500 filter and go with the wrong filter, although it must be doing the job.

If i can i want to fit the original spec filter so has anybody an idea where i can get the bung for for the KYT4682-43172.

They might have changed to a filter without a bung, and those now obsolete ?

Calcutt boats is one of their main distributors.

Or else ask on the Canal world forum.

What ever you fit make sure the bung is BSS approved, the plastic drains tend not to be for fire safety. That might be why a filter with no drain is fitted.
